KUALA LUMPUR, 28 May 2009 – Refreshing Italian-inspired cuisine and couture collections fuse harmoniously at Café Stelle by Raffles, the sophisticated new café exclusively located at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia’s world-class and award-winning lifestyle destination that anchors the thriving Bukit Bintang commercial district. Café Stelle by Raffles was launched today by YB Dato’ Sri Dr Ng Yen Yen, Minister of Tourism Malaysia accompanied by Tan Sri Datuk Seri Zainol Bin Mahmood, Chairman of Harmoni Perkasa Sdn Bhd; Datin Cindy Lim, Deputy Chairman of Pavilion Malaysia Sdn Bhd; Mr David Roberts, Executive Vice President, Operations, Asia Pacific of Fairmont Raffles Hotels International and Mr Thomas Meier, Vice President, Operations, New Developments, Raffles Hotels & Resorts.
The official opening also featured a stunning showcase from luxury jeweller and watchmaker Chopard. Models, draped in Chopard’s latest collection, sashayed down the 40-meter runway taking full advantage of the café’s stylish environs ideally designed for dining and entertaining.
This contemporary, metropolitan-chic space offers an elegant oasis nestled in the Couture Pavilion precinct, amongst flagship stores of international luxury brands such as Hermés, Bulgari, Mikimoto, Prada and Yves Saint Laurent. Natural wood and metallic finishes, warm hues and sleek furnishings create a sophisticated yet soothing ambience, and patrons have the option of dining on a formal table setting or on more casual ottomans and lounges.
Café Stelle by Raffles is the ideal venue to recharge and rejuvenate at any time of the day. Whether an energising weekend breakfast, afternoon tea or a relaxing dinner, the cuisine is light and places an emphasis on the finest, freshest ingredients. The 100 guests at the exclusive official opening of Café Stelle by Raffles feasted on Gamberi e Cannelleni (chilled lemon prawns with cannellini beans, frisée salad and garlic croutons), Costoletta di Agnello e polenta al Formaggio (Roasted baby lamb rack, root vegetables and gorgonzola cheese with soft polenta), and Zuccotto ‘Fantasia Stelle’ (espresso-flavoured ice cream with dark chocolate cookies, caramel and orange vanilla sauce), the restaurant’s signature dessert.
