Contest Deadline:

All entries must be received by 31 May 2009 at 2359 hours Singapore time.

Contest winners will be notified by email by 31 July 2009.

Contest Rules:

1. Your contest entry should contain no more than 100 words and must be an original work of which you are the sole author and copyright owner. Raffles Hotels & Resorts reserves the right to disquality any entry which has been entered for other contests or which has been used for any commercial purpose or which original source is in dispute.

2. All contestants must be 18 years of age or older.

3. The contest entries must be in English. This contest is void where prohibited or restricted by law. Each participant is allowed to submit 1 entry.

4. Your contest entry remains your property, however by submitting your entry, you give Raffles Hotels & Resorts a world-wide irrevocable royalty-free license to reproduce, publish, adapt, communicate and broadcast all or part of your entry in any form and media in such manner as it deems fit, and to sublicense those rights (including to its partners).

5. Raffles Hotels & Resorts does not accept any responsibility for late, lost or misdirected mail or any errors or failures in Internet or communications.

6. All entries must be submitted no later then 30 May 2009 in the manner prescribed.

7. Winners will be notified by post, phone or email.  

8. All contest entries will be judged based on the literary, informational and inspirational quality by a panel of judges. Decisions of this panel will be final and no correspondence or query will be entertained. 

9. The Prizes must be redeemed within a year from date of issue unless otherwise specified. The Prizes are not transferable or redeemable for cash.

10. Prior reservations must be made at the respective Hotels or Resorts and are subject to availability. 

11. All incidental charges resulting from winning a Prize shall be borne by the winner. The winner is responsible for any expenses not expressly included in the Prize description, such as air fare, in-flight entertainment, travel related taxes, income taxes, personal expenses, incidentals, expenses caused by flight interruption.

12. Raffles Hotels & Resorts reserves the right at its absolute discretion to terminate the contest or to vary, delete or all any of these terms and conditions from time to time.

13. Your participant in the contest and all terms and conditions of the contest, including but not limited to these Rules, and the terms below relating to Contest Duration and Judging Criteria, shall be governed by Singapore law. Your submission of an entry shall be deemed to be an acceptance of the above Rules.

Judging Criteria:

All entries will be judged based on the following criteria:

1. Is the entry original, creative, well organized, and imaginative in subject and presentation?  (30%)

2. Does the entry demonstrate the participant's understanding of the Raffles Brand or its properties? (30%)

3. Is the entry effective in communicating the significance of the topic?  (20%)

4. Is the written material clear, grammatical, and correctly spelled?  (20%)
