Raffles Beijing Hotel presents it’s first Wine and Food Dialogue featuring Maison Paul Jaboulet Ainé and Nicolas Le Bec of 2star Michelin restaurant Le Bec, Lyon.
For nearly two hundred years the hillsides of Hermitage in the Rhone area have been the focus of passion of the Jaboulet family, linking its name inextricably with one of the world’s most famous vineyards “La Chapelle”, and of course it’s legendary 1961 vintage considered one of the 12 mythical wines of the 20th century. Today the Maison P. Jaboulet Ainé has become synonymous with the finest wine making in the northern and southern Rhone Valley preserving the unique style of each individual terroir.
Nicolas Le Bec represents the new generation in France’s culinary scene, starting at age 17 he quickly rose amongst the “stars” of the gastronomic circle moving from Jacques and Laurent Pourcel to Alain Passard and Jean Pierre Vigato. He is gifted with constant energy and driven by a creative passion inspired from relentless curiosity. The cuisine reflects the man – inspired, unusual and harmonious, with perfectly balanced flavours. At merely 32 he opens “Restaurant Les Loges” for which he is awarded his first Michelin star, within the same year he opens his own Restaurant Nicolas Le Bec which is proud recipient in the city of Lyon of 2 Michelin stars.
