Grand Hotel Suites
|
|
The five suites in the Main Building are known as the Grand Hotel Suites. They are distinguished by their premier location in the Hotel, their spaciousness and elegant appointments, and the quality of the antiques and artwork displayed.
The term “Grand Hotel” is a very special one indeed It conjures up images of elegance and grace, gleaming brass and soothing service. A Grand Hotel is noted for its charm, its history and, of course its legends.
Whatever its architectural style, a Grand Hotel has the aura so characteristic of all things beautiful. At the same time, it has its own unique character; a Grand Hotel must be true to its surroundings and have its own eccentricities.
The remaining five Grand Hotel Suites, take their inspiration from the romance of travel in a bygone age. One is named after a once grand Singapore hotel - Raffles’ greatest rival - Hotel de L’Europe. The others are conferred place names now consigned to history books - Cathay, Temasek, Golden Chersonese and Straits Settlements.
