In 1997, the company initiated REACH (Rendering Encouragement, Assistance, Care and Hope), a community programme that offers pillars of support to underprivileged children, the arts and the environment in all destinations Raffles Hotels & Resorts operates in.

Activities to support biodiversity at Raffles Praslin, Seychelles include the protection of the nesting areas of the Seychelles Cave Swiftlet from development works and plants that support the endangered Seychelles Blue Pigeon in the resort’s landscaping plans. Several endemic and indigenous plant species have also been replanted throughout the grounds of Raffles Praslin, Seychelles to restore the natural beauty of the site which had been laid bare by fires some 40 years earlier. Among the many highlights include the rare Coco de Mer and Bwa Ponm - a favourite food of the local blue parrot.
Raffles Dubai’s Reach efforts are extended to needy families, children and adults with special needs, and raising cancer awareness. Annual activities include hosting fund-raising events for the Children’s Hope Foundation to assist with school fees, Pancreatic Cancer Research, Safe & Sound Breast Cancer Awareness. Another highlight of the hotel’s Reach calendar takes place during Ramadan. In 2011 Raffles Dubai supported Mawaheb from Beautiful People by displaying paintings created by adults with special needs in the hotel’s lobby.
Children are the main beneficiaries of Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor, Siem Reap and Raffles Hotel Le Royal, Phnom Penh’s initiatives. The two hotels work with schools and charitable organisations which provide children with education opportunities, and contribute items such as school supplies, computers, clothes, toys, electrical generators and kitchen equipment to needy children. In 2013 the hotels started collaboration with Pack for a Purpose, a campaign to encourage travellers to fill up their luggage with supplies for local communities. As Cambodia is a developing country, an everyday item to most in the western world can be scarce or unaffordable to a local Cambodian. This benefits various charitable organisations and families in need and contribute to a better future for the country. Items such as pens and pencils, teaching aids, clothing and other items can be passed onto our hotel representative for distribution. Click here for more information.
