Our historic location

Makkah (Mecca) is the holiest site in Islam, with the Grand Mosque and Kaaba at the very centre of religious life for the world's 1.8 billion Muslims. The Prophet Mohammad (Peace be upon him) was born in this ancient Arabic trading centre in the 7th century, experienced his first revelations and introduced the Islamic faith here. Each year, muslims from all over the world travel to Makkah for Hajj (major pilgrimage) or Umrah (minor pilgrimage). Just steps away from the Kaaba – the primary destination of pilgrims – Raffles Makkah palace also forms part of the Abraj Al Bait Complex alongside a four-storey luxury shopping centre, a prayer hall for 10,000 people, a convention centre for 1,500, a museum and a lunar observatory. The property is also located close to the Jabal Al Nour (Mountain of Light), Al Jamarat and Jabal Thawr. Makkah is also known as Umm Al-Qura (the Original City), Al-Balad Al-Ameen (the Secure City) and Al-Balad Al-Haram (the Sacred City).

Raffles Butlers

Our legendary Raffles Butlers are the primary points of contact for guests and VIP guests throughout their stay at the hotel. They are fully conversant with all services and facilities offered by the hotel and also about the local vicinity.
