الاستدامة والإدارة الحكيمة
إننا نبدي اهتماماً نابعاً من شغفنا بالحفاظ على الأرخبيل الذي نرى أنه موطن لأجيال المستقبل،
النخيل المستوطن
وقد حرصنا على إعادة زراعة عدة أنواع من النباتات الأصلية والمحلية في شتى أراضي المنتجع لاستعادة الجمال الطبيعي للموقع الذي تعرّض لحرائق تسببت بتجريده من غطائه النباتي قبل 11 عاماً؛ وقد أدت هذه الحرائق إلى إزالة الغابات وتعرية التربة وأضرار لحقت بالشريط الساحلي. ومنذ ذلك الحين، شرعنا في مهمة لزراعة أكبر عدد ممكن من الأشجار في الموقع واستطاع فريقنا بمساعدة من جمعية العمل الاستصلاحي للموارد الأرضية في سيشيل (TRASS) زراعة أكثر من 200 نبات مستوطن وأسهم في زراعة أكثر من 1,000 شجرة من أشجار المانغروف.
إعادة تأهيل الشعاب المرجانية
لقد تعاونا مع جمعية Nature Seychelles لبدء مشروع إعادة تأهيل الشعاب المرجانية على شاطئ المنتجع. واشتمل ذلك على إنشاء حضانات للشعاب المرجانية ومسار للغطس للنزلاء؛ وإننا ندعو نزلاءنا إلى المشاركة في أنشطة زراعة الشعاب المرجانية ليكونوا من المساهمين في استصلاحها؛ يتوسع هذا المشروع ليصل إلى قرابة 200 إطار من الشعاب المرجانية الاصطناعية للارتقاء بحياة الشعاب المرجانية في المنطقة. كما يُجري فريقنا في الموقع تقييمات ويراقب نجاح مشروع إعادة تأهيل الشعاب المرجانية.
وداعاً للبلاستيك الذي يُستخدَم لمرة واحدة
اتخذ منتجعنا في عام 2019 موقفاً ثابتاً للحد من استخدام المواد البلاستيكية التي تُستخدم لمرة واحدة على الجزيرة ومن ثم إيقاف استخدامها، ولا يوجد اليوم أي مواد بلاستيكية تُستخدم لمرة واحدة في موقع فندقنا ونشعر بالفخر الآن لكوننا رعاةً لمشروع تنظيف بيئة سلاحف ألدابرا. في كل عام، يُستخدَم أكثر من 50 مليار عبوة مياه بلاستيكية في شتى أنحاء العالم وينتشر ما يصل إلى 8 مليارات و300 مليون قشة بلاستيكية على شواطئ العالم ويطفو ما يزيد عن 270,000 طن من البلاستيك في البحر. تتميز فيلاتنا بمستلزمات تخلو من البلاستيك ويبيع البوتيك الموجود في الفندق سلعاً مصنوعة من البلاستيك المعاد تدويره. إننا نسعى بشغف للحفاظ على البيئة والاستدامة ونتخذ موقفاً واعياً بالبيئة في كل عملياتنا يشتمل على توفير طرائق تمكّن نزلاءنا من تقليل بصمتهم الكربونية في أثناء إقامتهم وإنهاء استخدام القشات البلاستيكية والمواد الأخرى غير القابلة للتحلل البيولوجي.
التفكير الإبداعي
أدخل مشروع تنقية المياه التابع لفندق رافلز سيشيل (Raffles Seychelles) استخدام القوارير الزجاجية لتعبئة المياه في الفندق وحقق نتائج إيجابية على مستوى استهلاك الطاقة وخفض كميات النفايات البلاستيكية إلى حد كبير، وقد مكّنت عملية تنقية المياه ذات المراحل الخمس الفندق من الاستفادة من موارد المياه البديلة. تُؤمَن المياه من جبل في الموقع وتُعبأ في زجاجات في المنتجع تشكّل حلاً مستداماً لملاذنا الطبيعي ولنزلائنا ولأولئك الذين يعيشون في جزر الأرخبيل المجاورة. حالت خطة استخدام القوارير الزجاجية دون استخدام أكثر من 260,000 عبوة بلاستيكية يزيد وزنها على 130,000 كغ.
من المزرعة إلى الطاولة
تُبتاع الأسماك الطازجة والمأكولات البحرية المقدمة في مطاعمنا من صيادين محليين دوماً، وتُستورَد نسبة 98% من الأسماك الصحية (فيما عدا السلمون) والفاكهة والخضروات أيضاً من مزارعين محليين. تحتوي الجزيرة على كمية محدودة من عدة مكونات أساسية يجب علينا استيرادها؛ غير أننا نشجع على الحياة الصحية عبر استيراد المكونات من موردين محليين حيثما أمكن ذلك والترويج للمنتجات المحلية في الكثير من الأطباق الصحية المدرجة على قوائم مطاعمنا.

Snorkelling the vibrant waters off the beach, you'll witness the remarkable coral rehabilitation initiative we've spearheaded in partnership with Nature Seychelles. This included the construction of coral nurseries and a guest snorkelling trail. You can join our staff and the marine experts from the NGO in maintaining the coral nurseries and even participate in planting new coral fragments, playing a vital role in restoring the health of these delicate ecosystems. The project is expanding to more than 200 artificial reef frames in 2024 to promote reef life in the area. Water scarcity is a global challenge, and at Raffles Seychelles, we’re committed to sustainable solutions. Our Water Purification Project not only minimizes plastic waste but also preserves the island’s limited resources. By introducing a five-stage filtration system and glass bottling on-site, we’ve reduced our dependency on external water sources and prevented the use of over 260,000 plastic bottles, saving more than 130,000 kg of plastic. Drawing pure mountain water from our own land, this initiative enables us to provide a refreshing, eco-friendly experience for our guests, all while safeguarding Seychelles' pristine natural beauty.
In 2019, our resort took a stand to reduce and then stop the use of disposable plastics on the island. Today, there is almost zero single-use plastic on-site. Each year, more than 50 billion plastic water bottles are used across the globe, up to 8.3 billion plastic straws are scattered around the world’s beaches, and there are more than 270,000 tons of plastic floating at sea. In 2022, we proudly sponsored the Aldabra Clean-Up Project in 2022, which collected 25,000 tonnes of plastic on the island’s beaches. Our villas feature plastic-free amenities and you can explore our boutique featuring stylish products made from recycled materials, such as fishing nets and sails.
At Raffles Seychelles, we’re dedicated to preserving the vibrant local ecosystem. Partnering with conservation groups like TRASS (Terrestrial Restoration Action Society Seychelles), we protect the unique flora and fauna that define the Seychelles, ensuring future generations can enjoy the islands’ natural beauty. As you explore our grounds, you’ll find an array of endemic and indigenous plants restored after years of deforestation and coastal damage from past fires. We’ve since embarked on a mission to replant and renew, adding over 200 endemic plants on-site and contributing to more than 1,000 mangrove restorations.
