What's On?
Some pastry creations transcend the season that inspires them. At Le Royal Monceau – Raffles Paris, the Christmas yule log is never simply a festive dessert — it is the extension of a world, an architecture, a singular soul. For the 2026 festive season, Pastry Chefs Yazid Ichemrahen & Alexandre Favre present L'Envoûtée du Bar Long : a work at the intersection of pastry, design and haute couture.
Since joining Le Royal Monceau – Raffles Paris, Yazid Ichemrahen has immersed himself in the spaces conceived by Philippe Starck. Among them, Le Bar Long holds a particular place in his creative imagination.
This singular living space — open from morning until midnight — is defined by the absence of any traditional counter. In its place, a long, backlit central table stretches the full length of the room, shaping the space through a single, continuous, luminous line. One does not simply stop here to drink; one lingers, drawn in by the perspective, by a visual depth that seems to extend to infinity.
It is this line — fluid, architectural, beguiling — that the Chefs and their team chose to transpose into pastry this year.
A Pastry Gesture That Capture Movement
L'Envoûtée du Bar Long does not seek to reproduce the décor of Le Bar Long. It captures its movement: an elongated, long and curved silhouette that travels through space without interruption, without artifice. Far from the traditional codes of Christmas, this creation stands as a genuine contemporary design object — to be admired before it is ever tasted.
Its monochrome robe, punctuated with gold, speaks the language of haute couture: at once restrained and precious. Every curve, every reflection tells the story of the depth and elegance of the space whose name it carries.
Beneath this architectural exterior, an exceptionally refined composition unfolds:
Each layer has been considered by Chefs Yazid Ichemrahen & Alexandre Favre with an absolute sense of balance: the enveloping warmth of the vanillas answers the brightness of the mandarin, while the flowing praline binds the whole with quiet generosity. A layering of intentions, as precise in construction as it is in flavour.
"I wanted to translate the emotion this place stirs in me through a creation of delicate lines — like a contemporary design object. Rather than reproducing its architecture, I interpreted its movement, its depth, its elegance. I love to think of pastry as an architecture one can taste. This yule log became a dialogue between pastry, design and haute couture, where every detail tells the soul of Le Royal Monceau – Raffles Paris."
