Lourse Warszawa
Peerless pastries in a classical setting
Savour the best cakes and pastries in Warsaw and enjoy tea brewed in the time-honoured manner. The original Lourse Warszawa patisserie was where the cream of Warsaw society met over exquisite delicacies and tea. Today’s patisserie celebrates that heritage, with its classical white ivory and brass décor recreating the beauty of days gone by.
Signature Cake
Lourse Warszawa’s Signature Cake is a sophisticated masterpiece, crafted with a delicate gluten-free chocolate sponge, complemented by the finest toasted nuts and our house-made plum jam. This elegant creation embodies the essence of Polish culinary heritage, offering a refined, timeless indulgence for the discerning palate.
A city institution since 1821
Lourse was founded in 1821 by Swiss confectioner Laurent Lourse. Modelled after Parisian patisseries, Lourse was soon the talk of Warsaw, its delicious gourmet ice cream and chocolate desserts attracting the likes of Fryderyk Chopin as well as notables from legal, scientific, literary and journalistic circles. And Lourse had another attraction: the patisserie was among the first in Warsaw to install gas lighting which, as women quickly discovered, was particularly flattering to the complexion.
Afternoon Tea
A refined ritual of celebration in the most elegant setting. Delicate pastries by the master confectioners at Lourse, carefully selected teas, and artfully curated savoury bites create an unforgettable experience, combining craftsmanship and exceptional quality in every moment.
Afternoon Tea is available every Saturday and Sunday by prior reservation only.
