Our commitments
Sustainability shapes our vision of luxury, rooted in authenticity, refinement, and respect. Explore how we are shaping a mindful future.
VIEW OUR REPORTOur resort integrates energy-saving technologies, including dimmable LED lighting, motion and door sensors that optimise air conditioning usage, and advanced energy audits to guide efficiency improvements.
We prioritise sourcing 80% of ingredients locally, with the remaining 20% imported out of necessity. Our collaborations support sustainable practices, from working with local fishermen and stingless bee honey producers to partnering with farmers who grow seasonal produce using traditional methods.
Water from various areas of the property is treated and repurposed to nourish our gardens and landscape. Treated water is used to maintain the greenery and replenish the Wellbeing River, with regular testing conducted to ensure it meets the highest safety standards for irrigation.
Garden waste and kitchen trimmings are recycled into natural compost, reducing reliance on chemical fertilisers by 90%. The compost enriches the soil, helping plants retain moisture, especially during dry seasons. This chemical-free process ensures healthy soil for the lush gardens.
Our grounds provide a sanctuary for native species, with 80% of the original trees preserved during construction. The surrounding area is home to remarkable fauna, such as the vibrant Blue Kingfisher, thriving near our river, and sea turtles nesting along the nearby coastline.
We collaborate with local communities to offer guests an authentic Balinese experience, from exploring traditional architecture to learning cooking and jamu-making. At The Shop, we feature handcrafted goods including Balinese songket and Javanese batik tulis, supporting the region’s cultural heritage.

Botanical Tour
Discover the rich biodiversity of Raffles Bali, home to over 100 plant species, including vibrant flowers, exotic fruits, aromatic herbs, and majestic palms. This guided tour takes you through the resort’s enchanting landscapes and botanical gardens, unveiling nature's beauty at every step.
Penyu Reserve
Penyu, the Indonesian word for turtle, gives its name to the resort’s conservation initiative. Penyu Reserve is an outdoor space by the shoreline created to protect sea turtle nests from birds and other predators until the hatchlings are ready to return to the ocean. The first turtle hatchlings emerged in 2023, a moment that inspired the creation of this reserve. Each year since, sea turtles have returned to our secluded beach to lay their eggs, allowing us to protect their journey and nurture this delicate cycle of life. When the hatching season begins, resident guests are invited to witness and join the release of the hatchlings into the ocean, an experience that celebrates renewal, honours the natural world, and reflects the timeless beauty of Bali’s shores.
Wings of The Wild
Where verdant hillsides meet the ocean’s edge, Raffles Bali reveals a rare harmony of landscapes that attracts a remarkable diversity of wildlife. Within this setting, seed- and fruit-eating birds share their habitat with those that thrive on crabs and small fish, revealing a landscape where remarkable biodiversity flourishes.
To date, more than 25 species of birds and 11 butterflies have been identified across the resort grounds. Guests may encounter the vivid colours of three kingfishers — Common, Javan and Collared — or discover why the humble sparrow is affectionately called the “church bird” in the local language. The Buru Green Pigeon, recognised as Near Threatened by the IUCN, adds further significance to this living sanctuary. Each guided walk offers intriguing insights and fascinating stories of the species that make Raffles Bali their home.
