Meet our Director of Wine
Introducing award-winning sommelier Vincenzo Arnese, Director of Wine at Raffles London at The OWO, responsible for the wine programme across all nine restaurants, three bars, in-room dining and events. He brings with him over two decades of experience at prestigious hotels and restaurants in Switzerland, Australia and the UK. Originally from Naples, he was introduced to wine by his grandfather and developed a keen interest from a young age. He started his career at three Michelin-starred The Waterside Inn at Bray, moving to Melbourne to work at Vue de Monde. In 2013 he returned to London as Head Sommelier at Dinner by Heston Blumenthal, and was subsequently appointed Head Sommelier at the three Michelin-starred Alain Ducasse at The Dorchester. In 2022 he was named Taittinger UK Sommelier of the Year, and was Best Sommelier in the GQ Food & Drink Awards 2023.
Our wine philosophy
Taking as our inspiration Britain's history as a successful trading nation, our wine list at Raffles London at The OWO is organised into wines from former British territories (British trade route wines) and wines that were originally traded with other nations (global trade route wines). We highlight wineries and estates that follow sustainable winegrowing and winemaking practices. Our curated list reflects not only our passion for wine, but also our desire to explore regions and grape varieties and to learn from some of the world's best, most innovative and most exciting wine producers. We invite you to explore with us and discover how wine can help transform a dining experience and bring happiness to every special occasion.
